SAM WAS BEST OF BREED BOTH DAYS AT MATTAPONI KENNEL CLUB SHOWS, PICTURED HERE WITH PAM MINNICH, HANDLER AND #1 SAM FAN. GOING BEST OF BREED OVER SEVERAL SPECIALS EARNED SAM GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS, AND RAISED HIS GCH LEVEL TO BRONZE.

DIRECTLY BEHIND SAM IS CH MOHNER’S LEGACY FOR HALCYON (“JULIE”) BEST OF OPPOSITE TO SAM EACH DAY.  SAM AND JULIE’S DAUGHTER, HALCYON’S ADDICTED TO LOVE (“CARLY”) WAS BEST OF WINNERS BOTH DAYS, EARNING ANOTHER TWO MAJORS. CARLY IS THIRD IN LINE IN THIS PHOTO BELOW.

“Angel” won the Working Group over 15 puppies at the prestigious Old Dominion Kennel Club Match in February 2013. Angel is the daughter of GCH CH Halcyon’s Samuel Adams and CH Mohner’s Legacy for Halcyon and is co-owned by Pat White, Lovely Lyons and Sue Anne Howell.

    

From a very large (89) entry, Judge Keke Kahn selected “Rudy” as Winners Dog, shown in the Amateur Owner Handler Class by his owner, Joel Labuda. This was a five point major for Rudy, who is out of CH Halcyon’s Nicholas Nickleby and CH Halcyon’s Raggedy Ann JWW.

“Kolja” finished his American Championship going Best of Winners at the Knickerbocker Standard Schnauzer Club, defeating a huge entry during the Standard Schnauzer Club of America’s National Specialty week July 6, 2012.

 

“Lucas” showed his powerful drive the first time he entered the sheep herding ring for his herding instinct test. According to the AKC Herding Instinct Evaluator, Susan Rhoades, Lucas sustained interest, worked silently, readily adjusted temperament and balance to the sheep’s movement and kept stock grouped. Two other Halcyon entries also passed the instinct test–CH Halcyon’s Willy Wonka and Halcyon’s Valentino.

Mohner’s Legacy for Halcyon, “Julie,” took a dim view of those smelly creatures.

Judge Ed Biven selected “Kolja” over 9 class dogs and 5 champions for Best of Breed. Biven stated ” this was one of the finest Standard Schnauzers” he had ever seen: “germanic in type, wonderful substance, powerful moving, great medium size, lovely head.”

We are delighted to have “Kolja” join Halcyon Standard Schnauzers for the summer. Kolja will seek his American Kennel Club championship and attend the Standard Schnauzer Club of America’s National Specialty in July.

“Lucas” achieved his first major win at the Baltimore Kennel Club show under Judge Brian Meyer, and another two points the following day under Judge Jane Treber. Lucas is shown here with Erika Anndersson, who was making her first visit to the US with her mother, Pia Andersson, SS Breed, Scarlights Kennel in Sweden, and very good friend.
