Puppy Wellness Checkup
12 pups to Dominion Animal Hospital for 7 week wellness checks today. All passed, and charmed all of the staff. Thanks to Gail Pfeiffer for going with me. Proud owner of the sire, Silver, Gail loves the litter too. Pups very thirsty when they got home!
Cagney Gets his Good Citizenship Title!
Cagney (Halcyon’s Eye of the Tiger) achieved his Good Citzenship title last night! Cagney is 7 months old and now has his first AKC title. He greatly benefited from his early puppy training with Charlotte Wagner and from the training classes at the Warrenton Kennel Club. Now on to Barn Hunting!
Cagney Gets the Rat!
Cagney (6 months old) and his Swedish friend Erika went to a Barn Hunt practice at Rose Miller’s home. Cagney found the rat in one of three tubes buried in hay bales in 4 different exercises! He is a natural!

The litter of 12 pups includes 7 males and 5 females — keeping Pat busy with feedings and puppy checks.

Halcyon’s Bullet with Butterfly Wings, “Bullet” won a five point major at the Warrenton Kennel Club show in late September. Bullet is co-owned by Pat White and Michelle Bell.

Barn Hunting is a new, fast growing sport. Dogs hunt for (tame) rats in tubes concealed within hay bales. Recently I took CH Halcyon’s Utopia (Pia) and Halcyon’s Dancing in the Moonlight (Milly) to a fun barn hunt exercise. This was a new experience for both dogs, and both proved committed, focused ratters. Next step will be competition!

Halcyon’s Be the Change You Wish to See, “EZRA”, quickly won his Championship in limited showing by one year of age, followed quickly with multiple Best of Breed wins and a Group Placement. Ezra became a Grand Champion as a result of these wonderful wins. In September, Ezra competed at the Knickerbocker Standard Schnauzer Club Specialty show and was awarded Best of Breed!
